Our Saddlebreds
Not only do we grow what may be some of the tastiest
blueberries in all the land, we also raise, train, show and sell American
Saddlebred horses. This is where the Canter in Canter-Berry Farms is
derived At the present time we own 7 American Saddlebreds. The three
horses pictured here are horses that we are currently showing. All three
are by our deceased stallion, Sultan's Happy Day. We show primarily in the
Northwest at Northwest Saddlebred Association(NWSA) Silver Circuit rated
shows.
The American Saddlebred Horse Association
(www.asha.net/asha.html) is the oldest horse registry in the United States,
celebrating it's 100th anniversary in 1991. Saddlebreds are most often
thought of as pure show horses, the "Peacocks" of the showring. The image
of a Fine Harness horse pulling a four wheel buggy, an elegant three gaited
horse trotting down the rail with an attitude or the silhouette of a bold
Five Gaited horse doing a slow gait in form, will make you remember The
American Saddlebred. They are very capable however of doing many and
versatile things. You will find Saddlebreds being great trail horses, doing
dressage work, jumping fences, competing in endurance rides and even
working cows. Whereever you find them, their owners will be enjoying them!
